A project born from a love of forests… and a slightly crazy dream
Guardians of the Cévennes was born from a simple idea: to allow everyone to reconnect with nature by symbolically becoming the owner of a small piece of forest... while contributing to its real and lasting protection .
Located in the heart of Mont Lozère , in one of the wildest regions of France, our project is based on a strong commitment: to preserve the natural beauty of the Cévennes and to pass on this living heritage to future generations.
A mission: to protect, transmit, raise awareness
Each plot symbolically “purchased” helps finance:
- preservation of the Cévennes forest
- local biodiversity (fauna, flora, protected species)
- environmental awareness actions
- visitors and hikers in a protected area
But above all, it makes you an ambassador of nature . By becoming a Guardian , you join a committed community that acts, on its scale, to defend French forests.
Why the Cévennes?
The Cévennes is much more than a mountain range: it is a territory steeped in history, traditions and struggles. It is also a natural sanctuary , a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where man still lives in harmony with nature.
The souvenir plots are located in the Mont Lozère forest , above 1,200 meters above sea level, in a setting of silence, mist, pines and granite.

At Gardiens des Cévennes , we invite everyone to symbolically become a Guardian of a plot of forest .
Of course, symbolically owning a square meter of nature does not make you a forester or a local lord.
And it's precisely this humorous twist that makes this original gift so charming – and why so many people love it.
Some people (perhaps a little too serious) find this exaggerated? No problem: just don't buy it .
We prefer to address those who have kept their childlike soul, their desire for nature and their sense of symbolism.

Our Guardians receive a personalized certificate , the GPS coordinates of their plot, and can access the nature reserve in the Cévennes .
They can proudly present themselves as Guardians of the Cévennes , and we refer to them as such in our discussions and within our community.

Of course, we do not award official distinctions as a state institution might.
