Nestled in the heart of the Cévennes National Park, the Mont Lozère national forest covers more than 5,000 hectares of unspoiled wilderness. It covers the granite slopes of Mont Lozère, between 1,200 and 1,699 meters above sea level , with the summit of Pic de Finiels as its highest point.
Classified as a Natura 2000 protected area and integrated into a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve , this exceptional forest is home to remarkable biodiversity, between moors, peat bogs, Scots pines and crystal-clear springs. This is where the Tarn and Lot rivers originate.
Accessible only on foot or via forest tracks, it is a true natural sanctuary!
